About

Mailwell is a native Mac mail app for people with more than one account. Gmail, iCloud, Fastmail, Kagi Mail, Microsoft 365 and any IMAP or JMAP server share one unified inbox.

Mail is stored on your Mac and syncs straight to your provider. There are no Mailwell servers in between, and the app has no analytics. AI features are optional and off by default. A read-only MCP switch lets Claude search your mail through Mailwell.

Mailwell is made by one person, Luke Southwell-Chan, an independent developer in California.

What it does

Every account in one inbox. Setup finds your provider's servers and walks you through app passwords where they're needed.
Native JMAP. Fastmail and Kagi Mail connect over JMAP, not only IMAP.
Private by design. No Mailwell servers, no analytics, tracking pixels blocked by default.
Nothing gets lost. Drafts and queued actions survive a quit or a crash, and moves and sends can be undone.
Inbox tabs and rules. Primary, Social, Promos and Updates for every provider, plus rules you can test on your inbox before turning them on.
Optional AI. Summaries and plain-English rules, using Apple Intelligence or your own API key.
MCP. Claude Desktop and Claude Code can search and read your mail. Read only, off by default.
